An Atlas Copco air end is the core part of a screw air compressor. It compresses air using two high-precision rotors and directly determines the compressor’s output and reliability.
The air end is the main compression module in a rotary screw air compressor. It contains a pair of helical rotors—male and female—that rotate inside a precision-machined casing. As the rotors spin, air is pulled in, compressed by decreasing volume between the rotors, and then discharged under pressure.
This mechanism makes the air end the most critical part of the compressor. Its performance affects airflow rate, energy consumption, operating noise, and maintenance intervals.
