How to Read Atlas Copco and Ingersoll Rand Compressor Part Numbers

Ordering the wrong compressor part usually comes down to one thing: a mis-read part number. Atlas Copco and Ingersoll Rand each use their own numbering, and superseded numbers are common. This short guide shows where to find the number and how to confirm fitment before you buy.

In short: always order by the part number stamped on the old part or listed in your parts manual, and cross-check it against your compressor’s model and serial number. If a number has been superseded, the OEM replacement is what you want.

Where to find the part number

  • On the old part itself — stamped, etched or on a label
  • In the machine’s parts list / service manual for your model
  • On the compressor data plate (for model and serial number)
  • On previous service invoices

Atlas Copco numbering

Atlas Copco spare-part numbers are typically ten digits (for example 1613 xxxx xx or 1616 xxxxxx). Air-end and service-element codes such as C55, C67 or C200 describe the screw element family, while the compressor itself carries a GA, ZR/ZT or XAS model name. Order by the ten-digit part number and confirm with the model and serial.

Ingersoll Rand numbering

Ingersoll Rand part numbers are commonly seven or eight digits (for example 22192728 or 40068389), sometimes with a prefix. The same physical part can appear under a superseded and a current number, so it is worth confirming the latest OEM number for your machine.

Why numbers get superseded

Manufacturers revise parts for improvements or to consolidate stock. An old number often still gets you the correct current part — but only if it is cross-referenced properly. If you only have an old or partial number, send it to us with your model and we will identify the current genuine part.
